We love Sarah Funky and her tours in New York City. So we have created a mediation practice combining intralinguistic oral and written mediation around one of her Tours of the City.
This comprehensive C2 Mediation Unit combines oral and written mediation, and it is perfect to introduce and revise vocabulary and expressions related to eating out, describing restaurants and bars and their atmosphere and culinary scenes.
Sarah’s video of the Best Restaurants in NYC lasts about 11 minutes. As they will need to watch the video twice, you can either watch it in class or ask students to watch it at home and then bring their notes to the next class so they can carry out the mediation practice.
The second part is an optional follow-up Written Mediation Task that you can ask students to do and hand in. Or, alternatively, you can ask students who didn’t act as mediators in the oral practice, to do the written mediation exercise at home to hand in.
