Socializing: Negative Emotions & Character Flaws

Topic: , , , ,

In this C2 Speaking Activitystudents talk about Socializing from the perspective of Negative Emotions & Character Flaws.

Students revise grammar contents like connecting words of concession, expressions to be imprecise while sounding advanced, the use of gerunds and infinitives, and Cleft sentences for emphasis.

On this worksheet, we introduce the section Other Expressions and Key Concepts, where you can find everyday expressions and concepts that will aid students in sounding more natural by using real everyday advanced English.

Some C2 phrasal verbs to talk about how we interact with others when there are negative emotions involved. For instance, to see through someone or to lash out, among others.

The C2 level vocabulary found on the worksheet is arranged in three sections, that is, nouns, verbs, and adjectives that they will need to discuss the topic. Several idioms are also introduced, so students incorporate them into their active corpus.

This C2 Speaking activity includes speaking questions about character flaws and how they can be improved, getting carried away vs. keeping one’s cool, how we relate to others on social media, and the like. This way, they will integrate all the contents on their worksheet while they talk.

As a BONUS you can also download the teacher and student’s feedback templates at the bottom of the download box. With them, you have highly effective ready-to-use templates to give your students well-structured individual feedback to take home. Students rave about them because once they see how easily and consistently their fossilized mistakes start vanishing, they can’t get enough of these templates with personalized feedback.
