In this Spanish-English Mediation Activity students are asked to help someone understand the intention behind a whatsapp message. It is a C2 level cross-linguistic (Spanish-English) mediation task.

In the pre-mediation section students work on idioms related to communication, wh-words + ever and on non-finite -ing clauses.

This mediation activity is excellent to train several mediation strategies and microskills:

  • transmitting the underlying intention
  • adapting the message to the interlocutor
  • expanding on the relevant information
  • clarifying the message
